Working with municipalities

BioCentral works closely with municipalities, the province and other regulators to ensure it meets or exceeds guidelines for biosolid processing and distribution.
BioCentral’s primary responsibilities in the processing and distribution process includes:
Testing the municipal treated biosolids at certified laboratories to ensure they meet Class A standards before transporting and distributing on approved sites.
In the case where they do not meet provincial standards for Class A classification, BioCentral provides additional treatment through a carbon based composting and aeration process before retesting at a certified laboratory.
Where required, BioCentral notifies the public of where and when biosolids will be spread and strives to ensure that information is clear and concise about timelines and any impacts during the spreading process.
